It was really wonderful. All the people I encountered at the Patsy Lou dealership were courteous and friendly,first off. All seemed to know their work and treated me as though I was valued. The whole place was clean and professional. It made me feel good to be in Flint where I grew up. This place runs like how I was taught to work and treat people, with respect and courtesy and to get the work done correctly.
The service was outstanding. They diagnosed all the problems, which were several. The service writer had all the work checked out first hand, and knew exactly what needed to be done. I even met the mechanic as he was inspecting the job, and he knew precisely all the mechanisms and what was wrong and how it worked. They even explained it to me to my satisfaction. Furthermore, the service writer man noted my oil hasn't been changed in 9000 mi. And suggested an oil change , which I did. In that process, they found my coolant levels were down 4" , and found a leak in my intake gasket. Which could have severely damaged the engine or worse ! (They even found my belt cracked and replaced that for me, which could have led to big problems on the road also)That was huge, finding the leak,for i could have overheated the engine and blown it up or been stranded on the road with major engine work. What a blessing there ! The whole thing was a wonderful experience, and I had excellent G.M. trained service people doing the work , and diagnosises. Being a retired G.M. skilled tradesman myself, trained here in Flint , I know and value highly excellence in workmanship, treating folks well, and making sure the job is done correctly the first time through, as best as can be expected. I value folks that have that work ethic and excellence in workmanship and technical skills and knowledge of what they do, which these service folks have.
And to top it all off I enjoyed the wonderful lounge, and then they drove me home. Why, they even came and picked me back up when it was done. For I am by myself, and it would have been difficult to get a ride that day. I got my truck by the weekend, which I needed. Getting a ride was so great, I never had anything like that before. I am completely happy with the whole thing. I know excellence when I see it. And this service department at the Buick store showed me that. It showed me folks who knew their work and were very motivated to make me feel special. Genuinely. Just a real blessing that was. Gee, even the drivers were very nice. And, I enjoyed the preferred owner deal where I received points toward the cost of this work from other work I had done before. That was really , really nice !
